CSR of Thermo Plastics contributes enhancing carbon sequestration by plating 1, 000 plants

BAM Holdings Limited, in remembrance of entrepreneur, philanthropist and its founder, late Mr. B. A. Mahipala’s on his 78th birth anniversary, planted 1,078 plants under the Group motto of “Mother Earth is Our Sustenance”, recently. Accordingly, this included 1,000 Mee plants, 50 Ehela plants and 28 fruit plants which were planted in the premises of Sri Lanka Army Special Forces (SF) Camp, at Maduru Oya.  

This was conducted as a continuation of the legacy of late Mr. Mahipala’s distribution of 1, 000 Mee plants to the villages around Homagama and two schools in Homagama area, namely; Godagama Subharathi Mahamathya Maha Vidyalaya and Meegoda Dharmaraja Vidyalaya, in 2020 and as a token appreciation for his sincere love for Mother Earth.

The recent project was facilitated by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team of Thermo Plastics (Private) Limited. They also expressed their gratitude for the Army SF team at Maduru Oya in making their project a resounding success.

Thermo Plastics (Pvt) Limited remains committed to contribute to enhancing the carbon sequestration capacity of the local ecosystem. Over time, this project is expected to be developed as an insetting initiative, enabling the organisation compensate for its operational level emission.
