SL rupee stabilizes, CSE records positive growth

The Sri Lankan rupee has recorded  a positive growth yesterday (18) soon after the economic decisions taken under the new Prime Minister. 

Accordingly, the rupee has appreciated sharply against the US dollar on May 12. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka quoted the selling price of the dollar at 377.50 rupees and the buying price at 364.23 rupees. However, the selling price of the dollar was 364.73 rupees yesterday (17) and the buying price was Rs.354.70.

The Colombo Stock Exchange’s overall price index and turnover recorded a positive growth with the turnover for yesterday being Rs.2.75 billion.
