25% of govt’s advertising budget for State media institutions

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal for compulsorily advertising the publicity programmes, to the value of 25% of the advertising and publicity budget of all government and semi- Government institutions from Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation,  Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Independent Television Network of Sri  Lanka, and the Associated Newspapers company Limited which are government media establishments; so that the state media institutions can be operated without any burden to the national budget.

The relevant proposal was tabled in the cabinet meeting by the Minister of Mass Media, Keheliya Rambukwella.
